Behavior Specialist (BCBA)
Position Overview
Jump Ahead Pediatrics is seeking experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) interested in providing virtual supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) working in school districts throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
This is a flexible opportunity for BCBAs looking to provide clinical oversight, guidance, and support to school-based RBTs without maintaining a traditional full-time, on-site caseload.
The primary focus of this role is to ensure that RBTs receive appropriate supervision in accordance with Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) requirements while supporting the delivery of effective behavioral services in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities
Virtual RBT Supervision: Conduct scheduled, real-time supervision sessions with assigned RBTs through video conferencing or similar technology.
Direct Observation: Observe RBTs providing behavioral services to students through live video, when authorized by the school district.
Performance Feedback: Establish performance expectations, provide constructive feedback, and support the continued development of RBT skills.
Clinical Guidance: Assist RBTs with problem-solving, ethical decision-making, and implementing behavioral interventions appropriately.
Behavioral Skills Training: Model appropriate professional, technical, and ethical behavior and provide additional training as needed.
Documentation Review: Review behavioral data, daily progress notes, data collection sheets, and other relevant documentation.
Service Oversight: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behavior-analytic services being delivered by assigned RBTs.
Collaboration: Communicate with Jump Ahead Pediatrics and school personnel as needed regarding supervision, behavioral concerns, and student support.
Compliance: Maintain appropriate supervision documentation and ensure ongoing compliance with BACB requirements and applicable state regulations.
Supervision Structure
In accordance with BACB requirements, the supervising BCBA will:
Provide supervision totaling at least 5% of each RBT's monthly behavior-analytic service hours.
Conduct a minimum of two real-time, face-to-face supervision contacts per month with each RBT.
Directly observe the RBT providing services during at least one monthly supervision contact.
Ensure at least one monthly supervision contact is individual; other supervision may occur in an eligible small-group setting.
Maintain supervision records and provide ongoing feedback and support.
Supervision may be conducted virtually through live video conferencing, provided it complies with applicable laws, professional standards, student privacy requirements, and school district policies.
Qualifications
Active BCBA certification in good standing.
Completion of required BACB supervision training.
Experience supervising RBTs, preferably in educational or school-based environments.
Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies, data collection, and ethical supervision practices.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Appropriate state licensure or authorization for the location and services being provided.
Schedule & Flexibility
This position offers flexibility, with supervision schedules coordinated around the assigned RBTs' school hours and district needs.
The number of RBTs assigned will be determined based on availability, experience, and supervision capacity.
Most responsibilities are expected to be performed remotely. Any additional on-site expectations would be discussed before accepting an assignment.
